Our mission is to advance the work of organizations that cultivate creative and cultural expression in Southeast Michigan.
The CulturePop grant program is designed to fund simple, quick arts and culture activations in Downtown Detroit with the goal of helping arts and culture organizations build new audiences and present their work in public spaces. The program encourages CultureSource member organizations to adapt their in-person programming to outdoor settings with logistic simplicity, encouraging physical distancing, and focusing on engaging passersby to stop, watch, learn, and participate. The grant supports both adapted existing programs and the development of innovative new ones, with a funding amount of $4000 per organization for their activation efforts. This year, participation in the grant cycle is by invitation only.
