The CVS Health Foundation aims to improve community health by supporting innovative solutions that help people live healthier lives, focusing on issues like youth mental health. They are committed to making significant philanthropic investments to tackle health-related challenges, particularly those affecting underserved populations.
The Centering Youth Mental Health initiative by the CVS Health Foundation seeks to address the deteriorating mental health outcomes among young people ages 12 to 24. This initiative concentrates on creating sustainable, systems-level improvements in adolescent and young adult mental health through city- or county-level coalition-led projects. A total of $1,000,000 will be awarded to each selected site, aiming to launch the initiative in up to four locations across the United States. These projects will enhance young people's access to evidence-based care, programs, and conditions that nurture positive mental health outcomes. The focus is on bridging care gaps for the most vulnerable populations, including those who identify as female, BIPOC, and/or LGBTQ+, reside in areas with scarce behavioral health care services, or are involved with the juvenile justice or child welfare systems. The overarching vision is to ensure young people facing mental health challenges can receive timely intervention, treatment, and support to achieve optimal well-being as they transition into the next phase of their lives.
