The Denver Post, The Denver Post Community Foundation, and Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation aim to help those less fortunate in our community improve their lives and become self-sufficient. They focus on supporting children and youth, health and wellness, homelessness, and hunger through grants funded by Season To Share, facilitated by donations from readers and corporations.
The grant program seeks to support qualified nonprofit organizations that work within specific focus areas:
Children and Youth: Grants in this area target out-of-school time programs that foster academic achievement and social or emotional development for children and youth, especially those facing barriers to success.
Health and Wellness: Funding is directed towards programs that provide accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare, including physical, behavioral, and dental services for low-income and under-served individuals.
Homelessness: This area supports programs offering homelessness prevention and long-term housing solutions, focusing on maintaining housing stability and supporting transitions into more permanent or stable living situations.
Hunger: Grants prioritize organizations that address food insecurity through large-scale programs or initiatives, emphasizing nutritious options, client-choice services, and support for SNAP/benefit program enrollment.
Each of these areas requires that the programs not only demonstrate positive outcomes but also cater to communities and individuals facing significant challenges, ensuring efforts lead to tangible improvements in the lives of those they serve.
