The Dermatology Foundation offers Career Development Awards (CDAs) across ten categories to support the academic and professional growth of individuals in the field of dermatology. These awards aim to facilitate the transition from fellowship to established investigator or clinician roles, fostering future intellectual leaders, educators, clinical scholars, and translational investigators. The CDAs cover various specializations within dermatology, including clinical dermatology, dermatopathology, pediatric dermatology, women's health, public health, and the science of human appearance, among others. Each category addresses specific research or clinical practice areas, emphasizing the importance of a strong institutional commitment to career development. Renewals for up to three years are contingent upon demonstrating significant progress in research and career milestones. The funding includes an annual salary stipend, with the possibility of institutional supplementation and the pursuit of additional grant support for research expenses.
