The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life in the Duluth Superior region through the establishment and administration of endowed funds created by individuals, families, private foundations, and businesses. Since 1983, it has distributed over $40 million in grants and scholarships, managing more than 360 funds for various charitable purposes.
The grant program from The Anishinabe Fund is designed to support a wide range of projects that promote the awareness and understanding of Anishinabe/Ojibwe culture. This includes panel discussions on spiritual values, recordings of oral histories, anthologies of myths, exhibitions of traditional crafts, and pow-wows. The program also supports teaching of cultural traditions and skills, and media productions related to Anishinabe/Ojibwe traditions. Eligible organizations can range from art galleries and museums to schools and media outlets, all dedicated to promoting Anishinabe/Ojibwe cultural traditions.
