The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life in the Duluth Superior region through the establishment and administration of endowed funds created by individuals, families, private foundations, and businesses. Since 1983, it has distributed over $40 million in grants and scholarships, managing more than 360 funds for various charitable purposes.
The grant program aims to support a wide array of initiatives within the Two Harbors area that contribute to robust economic development and societal betterment. It backs projects that provide technical and managerial assistance to businesses, upkeep and enhancement of public lands and waters for open and accessible recreational activities, development and maintenance of public infrastructures like buildings and monuments, seed funding for emerging businesses, initiatives that ease the responsibilities of governmental bodies, support for the impoverished, actions to curb juvenile delinquency, housing aid for the low-income demographic, and projects from organizations dedicated to fostering social welfare. These endeavors are chosen based on their capacity to directly and substantially benefit the public while maintaining any private gains as secondary.
