    The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life in the Duluth Superior region through the establishment and administration of endowed funds created by individuals, families, private foundations, and businesses. Since 1983, it has distributed over $40 million in grants and scholarships, managing more than 360 funds for various charitable purposes.

    The grant supports a wide range of projects that contribute to the educational, environmental, health, safety, and cultural well-being of Madeline Island residents. This includes programs focused on environmental, historical, and cultural education; initiatives for students of La Pointe School, preschoolers, and the children of summer families; projects that improve healthcare access and encourage healthy living; support for safety and well-being through training and equipment; educational resources; and projects that enrich the cultural life of the community through the arts and history.
