The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life in the Duluth Superior region through the establishment and administration of endowed funds created by individuals, families, private foundations, and businesses. Since 1983, it has distributed over $40 million in grants and scholarships, managing more than 360 funds for various charitable purposes.
The grant program aims to fund a wide range of projects that bring arts programs to new audiences, particularly K-5 students within the school systems, and support collaborative projects that involve schools, families, and the broader community. It includes support for teacher training, art supplies or musical instruments, exhibit or performance costs, artist in residency programs, workshops or master classes, subsidized performance tickets for audience development, soloist or guest artist fees, and costs for visiting, innovative, experimental, or outreach presentations or programs. It also seeks to develop new arts programs. Possible recipients include area schools and school districts, the Bong Heritage Center, and the City of Superior.
