East Bay Community Foundation partners with donors, social movements, and the community to eliminate structural barriers, advance racial equity, and transform political, social, and economic outcomes for all in the East Bay. It aims to transform the region’s power structures to promote equity, striving for an inclusive, fair, and just East Bay through justice, grounded in community-informed principles and anti-oppression practices.
The Women’s Catalytic Fund aims to empower women to drive social change by providing one-time grants of up to $15,000 to support initiatives that end gender-based inequity and change systems that perpetuate it. It focuses on investing in female identifying, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming leaders from BIPOC communities. The fund supports bold visions that reimagine the potential of marginalized communities, prioritizing catalytic, intersectional, collaborative initiatives that address gender-based inequity, violence, patriarchy, or transphobia. It emphasizes the development and leadership of women and girls in targeted communities, responding to their unique needs and supporting their actions to improve quality of life, with a focus on low-income women, women of color, or immigrant women. Projects must be community-led and show potential for a ripple effect or serve as a model for accelerating change.
