    The Affordable Housing Trust Fund established by the East Tennessee Foundation supports the enhancement of housing opportunities for low-income households within the City of Knoxville. It aims to fund a wide range of projects that result in the production, preservation, and rehabilitation of affordable housing. Eligible activities include new construction and major rehabs of homes, development of condominiums or cooperative housing, pre-development expenses, interest rate write-down assistance, down payment assistance, minor home repair, homeownership counseling, homebuyer education, and foreclosure prevention. Forms of assistance provided by the fund can include secured loans, lines of credit, forgivable loans, and grants, with a particular focus on grant funding for renter-occupied housing programs. The fund is open to various project terms to ensure the success of the initiatives it supports.
