The ESA Foundation is dedicated to supporting the next generation of video game creators by fostering diversity in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM). Through scholarships and mentoring, they aim to build a pipeline of talented, diverse professionals poised to lead the future of video game development.
The ESA Foundation's Computer and Video Game Arts and Sciences Scholarship program targets minority students in the United States with aspirations in the video game industry. Since its inception in 2007, nearly 400 students have been awarded scholarships to pursue degrees related to video game creation. The program not only provides financial support but also offers valuable non-monetary benefits such as networking opportunities, mentoring sessions, and access to key industry events, including the Game Developers Conference and E3. The overarching goal is to inspire and enable future creators, promoting diversity within the realms of STEAM education and the video game industry at large.
