The European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infection-related diseases. It supports this mission by promoting research, education, training, and good medical practice.
ESCMID Research Grants are designed to aid young outstanding investigators in conducting pioneering research in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. The grants alternate focus annually between Bacterial Infections & Diseases in even years and Fungal/Viral/Parasitic Infections & Diseases in odd years, covering various aspects such as susceptibility & resistance, diagnostics, pathogenesis, stewardship, and vaccines. The maximum grant amount per project is EUR 20,000, including potential overheads, with up to EUR 50,000 reserved for two exceptionally rated projects displaying significant potential for advancement in their fields.
