The Farmington Bank Community Foundation strives to continue the 167-year legacy of the former Farmington Bank by supporting non-profit organizations and community programs that enhance opportunities for a better life. It focuses on improving economic opportunities, health, and addressing basic needs for the residents of sixteen communities in Central Connecticut.
The grant program of Farmington Bank Community Foundation is designed to support two strategic areas: economic empowerment and sustainability, and access to essential services. Its goals include fostering pathways from poverty to prosperity for individuals and families, encouraging diverse and robust neighborhood and community economies, supporting workforce development, and enhancing opportunities for quality employment and career prospects. It also focuses on increasing household financial security/self-sufficiency through adult education, completion of secondary education, and school readiness. Additionally, the foundation supports efforts to ensure residents have access to employment training and education, health services, healthy nutrition, stable housing, and safety net services, all with an emphasis on aiding people of low-to-moderate income.
