    Type of Support

    Overview

The Traditional Conservation Grant Program aims to support state efforts in conserving and recovering threatened and endangered species under its jurisdiction, specifically within Service Region 8, which includes California and Nevada. It provides financial assistance to projects that directly benefit federally listed species, candidate and at-risk species, and recently delisted species. The program encourages states to apply for funds to engage in conservation work, including management, research, monitoring, and outreach for species listed in their cooperative agreements. Successful projects must demonstrate clear benefits to the species or its habitat, contributing towards species recovery or preventing the need for listing under the Endangered Species Act.
