This grant program seeks to bolster civics education in Appalachian Ohio by funding projects for K-12 public schools, educators, students, and public and nonprofit organizations serving K-12 students in the region. It aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to become informed and engaged citizens through enhanced civics education. The grant supports projects that build students' knowledge in civics, foster positive relationships, and empower students to participate in civic life. In response to the declining resources for civics education amidst increased focus on STEM and literacy, this program provides financial support for initiatives designed to actively engage students and educators in civics education both in the classroom and the broader community.
