Foundation For The Carolinas inspires philanthropy and empowers individuals to create a better community.
The Longleaf Fund's grant program is geared towards capital projects that fortify the character and achievements of at-risk children and youth within specific communities in the Carolinas. It has a strong commitment to working with effective nonprofit partners to empower communities to aim higher and generate better opportunities for their youth. Specifically, the grants it offers are targeted at organizations working within or for populations in five designated cities in North Carolina and South Carolina. The program places special emphasis on one-time capital ventures that: 1) build community and promote physical activity through the development of recreational spaces; 2) support learning advancement for at-risk youth, particularly through better access to technology; and 3) improve the quality of life for children with disabilities by enhancing their educational or physical environments and capabilities.
