We support pioneering science to provide everyone access to affordable, nutritious food grown on thriving farms.
The FFAR Fellows Program is dedicated to developing the leadership skills, professional connections, and scientific competencies of PhD students in the food and agriculture sectors within the U.S. and Canada. Managed by North Carolina State University, this program emphasizes comprehensive professional development over a three-year period for its cohorts. The initiative focuses on a mix of in-person and virtual interactions to facilitate learning on self-management, networking, communication, understanding policy-making, and expanding career vistas beyond academia into industry, government, and NGOs. Central to the program are the goals of enhancing leadership competencies for public good, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration for problem-solving, and guiding students to explore diverse career paths while providing a structured framework for their professional development through mentorship and training in effective communication of their research.
