    Overview

The Harvest for Health Breakthrough Crop Challenge aims to address the critical issue of limited dietary diversity due to the heavy reliance on a few staple crops. By concentrating on underutilized crops, this initiative seeks to ensure nutritional security, provide economic opportunities for growers, meet the consumer demand for healthy, sustainable, and diverse food products, and contribute to the health and environmental sustainability of the food system. The challenge involves the development of a predictive model to screen and evaluate underutilized crops for their potential as sources of functional and nutritious ingredients to innovate or enhance food products.
