Friends of Nepal (FoN) aims to support initiatives that address climate change, natural resource conservation, and sustainability. While initially focusing on promoting girls' learning, FoN has expanded its mission to include environmental causes, recognizing the interconnectedness of economic development, environmental health, and educational progress in Nepal.
The grant from Friends of Nepal is designed to support projects within the thematic areas of Climate Change, Natural Resource Conservation, and Sustainability. It aims to fund initiatives that not only contribute to the environmental well-being of Nepal but also bolster economic development and support educational advancements, with a particular emphasis on increasing girls' participation in education. Projects that align with one or more of these themes are encouraged to apply, especially those that offer innovative solutions to environmental challenges, such as natural resource management, natural disaster mitigation, waste management, and sustainable farming practices. Special consideration is given to proposals that integrate these environmental goals with efforts to improve community economic outcomes and educational programs, particularly those engaging students in climate change mitigation and conservation activities. Applicants must be members of Friends of Nepal and provide a letter of recommendation from a sponsor with significant ties to Nepal.
