General Motors (GM) is committed to advancing social progress in the communities where we live and work by creating jobs, supporting local economies, and providing inclusive solutions to social issues. Our philanthropy focuses on STEM education, vehicle and road safety, community development, and climate equity, aiming to build a diverse and equitable talent pipeline, ensure safer communities, empower individuals, and create sustainable solutions that include everyone.
The grant program by GM is structured under four main focus areas: STEM Education, Vehicle and Road Safety, Community Development, and Climate Equity. Each area targets specific goals such as building a diverse pipeline in STEM through immersive and digital learning; reducing crashes with awareness and education programs; empowering communities through job skills, economic support, and placemaking; and tackling climate change with attention to equity in job access, sustainable transportation, and community resilience. GM reviews applications continuously but requires them to be submitted at least three months before program deadlines. There is no fixed grant amount, as funding varies based on program needs and available resources.
