The mission of The Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries is to support neediest schools across the United States by providing funds to enhance, update, and diversify book and print collections in school libraries. This initiative aims to foster a love of reading and learning among students.
The grant program from The Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries is designed to assist the nation's neediest schools in expanding their library collections with the aim of encouraging reading and learning among students. Eligible materials for funding include books, periodicals, eBooks, reference materials, and magazine/newspaper subscriptions. To qualify, schools must designate a paid professional responsible for the library's materials and meet certain criteria, such as Title 1 eligibility for public schools or having at least 50% of students qualify for financial aid in private and parochial schools. Each school within a district or system must apply separately.
