The Black Feminist Fund is dedicated to significantly increasing the resources available to Black feminist movements worldwide. Recognizing the transformative power of Black feminism, the fund aims to rectify the underfunding of these groups. By empowering Black feminist organizations with the resources they need, the Black Feminist Fund believes in strengthening the capacity of these movements to enact societal change.
The Black Feminist Fund supports Black feminist groups with bold visions, using innovative strategies and taking daring actions towards self-determination, justice, solidarity, and equity. The fund focuses on groups that are led by and for Black women, girls, and gender-expansive individuals, with a strong emphasis on those that are constituency-led. Grantmaking is conducted through two participatory funds: The Sustain Fund and The Solidarity Fund. The Sustain Fund aims at general support for these movements, while The Solidarity Fund concentrates on resourcing solidarity efforts, including exchanges, strategic co-creation, convening, joint campaigns, and other similar activities. This approach is designed to place resources directly into the hands of activists advancing their own rights and building their movements for social change.
