The Polio Research Committee (PRC) aims to guide and recommend strategies for the Global Polio Eradication Initiative’s research program, focusing on identifying research priorities, evaluating proposals, and endorsing significant projects to be funded, specifically aiming at polio eradication.
The grant program seeks detailed proposals that will contribute substantially to eradicating polio, covering various study areas such as basic science, operational research, mathematical modeling, and epidemiological/clinical studies. Priority is given to research generating new data in vaccine schedule immunogenicity, surveillance methods, product development for innovative IPV formulations, epidemiology/virology, monitoring and evaluation of polio vaccination campaigns, basic immunology, and containment strategies to support polio eradication objectives.
