The mission of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation is to improve quality of life in Greater Kansas City by increasing charitable giving, educating and connecting donors to community needs, and leading on critical issues.
The grant program aims to support organizations that serve Clay County's youth, from birth to nineteen years old, by providing financial assistance for starting or expanding services crucial for child welfare. Specifically, the funding supports a wide range of services including counseling and therapy, crisis intervention, various intervention programs, mental health screenings, outpatient chemical dependency and psychiatric treatment, prevention programs, psychological evaluations, respite care, services for teen parents, temporary shelter, and transitional living counseling and services. These efforts align with the fund's purpose to fulfill the legislative intent for children's services, emphasizing the comprehensive support for the physical and emotional well-being of children in Clay County.
