The mission of the funder is to continue the Maison Hospitaliere's legacy of support by making grants to organizations serving women and their families, ensuring direct services to women through either general operating or program support.
The LGBTQ Fund provides grants for: general operations, programs, advocacy (legislative, judicial, or executive, plus community organizing, campaigns, leadership, and policy development), and capacity building (technology, collaboration, professional development, communications training, organizational effectiveness, evaluation, and research). The fund prioritizes health, cultural, and support organizations aimed at increasing quality of life and access for LGBTQ individuals, especially elders, transgender youth and adults of color, low-income LGBTQ people, and LGBTQ youth of color and those who are disabled. Goals include advocating for effective policies, building cultural competency in mainstream organizations serving the LGBTQ community, and providing high-quality, culturally competent direct services in areas such as healthcare, crisis management, workforce development, and housing.
