The Community Grants program supports initiatives that promote economic stability in southeastern Virginia, focusing on helping residents who face barriers to success. The program prioritizes ending homelessness through safe and affordable housing, workforce readiness and employment connection for low-income individuals, and the development of financial education and savings programs. Desired outcomes include long-term housing stability for the homeless, employment for economically disadvantaged adults in jobs that match local demand, higher-wage positions for the underemployed post-training, and improved financial literacy and savings for economically disadvantaged individuals. Proposals must align with these priorities and clearly outline intended outcomes and measures of effectiveness.
