The Handweavers Guild of America, Inc. (HGA) aims to educate, support, and inspire the fiber art community by providing inspiration, instruction, and networking opportunities for fiber artists of all skill levels.
The Mearl K. Gable II Memorial Grant, established in 2000, honors Mearl K. Gable II, a dedicated supporter of the Weavers Guild of the North Shore, Inc. (WGNS) and the larger fiber art community. This grant offers financial awards of $100 or more to support studies in non-accredited fiber art programs across any skill level. Recipients may use the grant for research and studies related to fiber arts. Within six months of completing their studies, grantees are required to report back to the WGNS with their findings, either in person or through various means such as video, presentations, notebooks, and samples.
