The Hawai‘i Community Foundation (HCF) aims to benefit the communities and people of Hawai‘i through project or program-based funding. It leverages specific community funds, supported by various donors and estates, to cater to the diverse needs and aspirations of the Hawaiian population with an emphasis on fostering positive change and development within these communities.
This grant, rooted in the work of Rev. Takie Okumura and managed by the Hawai‘i Community Foundation, aims to foster the healthy development of Hawai‘i's young children and youth, with a specific focus on those at risk for Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). The program prioritizes building resilience through connecting youth with caring adults and activities, teaching healthy relationship skills, providing mental health support, and expanding access to programs for underserved communities. Grants are up to $25,000 per year for a two-year period, with a total annual funding allocation of up to $300,000.
