Mrs. Littauer's passion for teaching and her active involvement in community volunteerism and city government led to the establishment of the Educational Trust in 1969. Throughout her life, she contributed significantly to various civic endeavors and aimed to support charitable activities through her Trust, focusing particularly on helping the underprivileged in society.
The grant program focuses on supporting charitable organizations across various domains including Arts, Culture, & Humanities; Education; Food, Agriculture, & Nutrition; Health; Housing & Shelter; and Human Services. Specifically targeting Tarrant County, the program seeks to fund initiatives that provide scholarships to needy students, with a preference for those attending schools of journalism, promote art, education, and good citizenship, alleviate human suffering, offer medical care to the needy, and support the care and education of needy, orphaned, or disabled children. Furthermore, it aims to improve the living and working conditions for all, emphasizing the care of the sick, aged, or disabled individuals.
