The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation aims to support educational excellence and innovation. It recognizes Wisconsin educators, students, and principals for their outstanding contributions and provides them with financial support to achieve their goals, thereby enhancing the quality of education in Wisconsin.
The Herb Kohl Principal Leadership Award supports excellence in Wisconsin school administration by recognizing outstanding public school principals and administrators. The purpose of the grant is to support Wisconsin principals in pursuing their unrealized goals for their schools or professional development. Each recipient and their school receive $6,000 grants. The award highlights the importance of administrative leadership in schools and encourages principals to excel in their roles. Up to seventeen Leadership Awards are distributed annually, with a majority going to public school principals and a smaller portion to private school principals/administrators.
