The Hollyfield Foundation fosters and protects individual rights and freedoms by providing direct and indirect funding to qualifying 501(c)3 organizations that work to prevent discrimination, educate and secure equal rights for sexual minorities, and assist in health care issues for the community, particularly in the areas of HIV/AIDS education, care, and treatment.
The Hollyfield Foundation Grant supports GLBT and AIDS charities that make a difference within the community, having donated over $900,000 to GLBT non-profits in the Houston area over ten years. The grant program focuses on a broad range of goals, including preventing discrimination against sexual minorities, educating and securing equal rights for them, and addressing health care issues, especially relating to HIV/AIDS. Specific funding priorities include projects addressing discrimination/equal rights for sexual minorities, organizations promoting tolerance (including voter education), legal and educational assistance to combat discrimination against individuals with HIV/AIDS, services for those affected by HIV/AIDS or other health issues facing the sexual minority community, and organizations within the Arts impacting the GLBT community. Interim grants are also available for smaller projects, requiring a cover letter and mission statement for application.
