Type of Support

Overview

The Community Fund grant program, organized by the Honnold Foundation, aims to support solar PV installations for community-based nonprofits with BIPOC leadership in the most polluted areas of the United States. It focuses on reducing carbon footprints and power bills for these organizations, thus allowing them to allocate more resources toward essential community services. The program includes a two-part application process, anticipates discussions and additional material requests during review, and commits to a responsive timeline from application to award announcement. Successful applicants are expected to orchestrate the installation of a solar PV system on or near their building, with logistical support from the Amicus Solar Cooperative. Eligible regions are specified, but the Foundation welcomes applications from BIPOC-led organizations outside these areas, particularly those in U.S. states and territories facing negative impacts from pollution.
