The DC Oral History Collaborative (DCOHC) aims to document, preserve, and celebrate the lived experiences of all Washington, DC residents and communities. This is accomplished through providing training, mentorship, resources, programs, and funding to both current and aspiring oral historians.
DC Oral History Collaborative Grants are designed to support oral history projects that delve into the life, history, and culture of Washington, DC through interviews with individuals who have experienced it firsthand. These grants provide an opportunity for recipients to request additional funds for the translation of interview transcripts. Moreover, projects that have been successfully completed and were previously funded by HumanitiesDC can apply for extension grants.
