The DC Oral History Collaborative (DCOHC) aims to document, preserve, and celebrate the lived experiences of all Washington, DC residents and communities. This is accomplished through providing training, mentorship, resources, programs, and funding to both current and aspiring oral historians.
This grant program provides general operating support to humanities-focused organizations that primarily engage with young people aged 11 to 19. The funding supports these organizations in using the humanities to help youth explore issues significant to them and their communities, without being restricted to a specific program. The goal is to empower the youth to engage with humanities in a way that resonates with their experiences and interests. This grant is part of the Humanities Grant Program funded by the District of Columbia Government through the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. Applicants have the flexibility to determine how the funds will be used and are encouraged to outline their expected use of the grant money.
