We have a vision of a Thriving, Just, Healthy, and Equitable Region. This vision is implemented through four decade-long goals of increasing Racial Equity, Thriving Youth and Families, Healthy Ecosystems and Environments, and a Just Economy.
The Ride to the Wild Fund, part of the HAF + WRCF grant funding, is focused on educational enhancement through real-world experiences. It aims to enable K-12 teachers in Humboldt County to take their students on educational field trips to local natural areas, with the specific goal of increasing students’ knowledge and awareness of nature. The fund covers transportation costs, typically limited to the average cost for a bus and driver for a single outing, thereby removing a significant barrier to accessing these valuable educational experiences.
