Core / General Operating Support: Cycle 1

The grant program focuses on offering strategic Core/General Operating Support to nonprofit organizations. This form of support is crucial for underwriting administrative infrastructure, boosting agency capacity, and assisting in financial and organizational development. Specifically, the grants aim to sustain core programs and essential staff, with the flexibility for organizations to allocate funds towards daily operations or ongoing expenses such as salaries, utilities, office supplies, and technology maintenance. Additionally, funds can be utilized for program costs, capital investments, technology purchases, and professional development efforts. The primary emphasis is on building robust organizations for greater community impact in Santa Barbara.

For 2023, the Hutton Parker Foundation has designated two grant cycles with specific focus areas:

• Cycle 1: Health & Human Services and Education, covering a range of services including mental health care, healthcare services, shelter and residential care, special population support, youth development, adult education, early childhood education, education services, elementary and secondary education, and higher education. Organizations benefiting from these grants are expected to demonstrate increased capacity and sustainability, contributing to the creation and implementation of a targeted vision and mission-driven business plan.
