Hutton Parker Foundation aims to bolster nonprofit organizations by offering Core/General Operating Support. This support is designed to enhance organizational capacity and sustainability, ultimately leading to a greater impact within the Santa Barbara community. Through strategic general operating support, the foundation seeks to fund administrative infrastructures, support increased agency capacity, assist with financial and organizational capacity development, and maintain core programs and essential staff. The goal is to invest in operationally strong nonprofit organizations, helping them to craft and execute a targeted vision and mission-driven business plan for increased capacity and overall sustainability.
The grant program targets ARTS & CULTURE and CIVIC & COMMUNITY organizations, offering Core/General Operating Support to address the nonprofit sector's need for strategic general operating support. This includes unrestricted funding enabling recipients to carry out their missions effectively by covering day-to-day activities or ongoing expenses such as administrative salaries, utilities, office supplies, technology maintenance, etc., as well as program costs, capital, technology purchases, and professional development. The program specifically supports areas like Museums & Historical Preservations, Performing Arts and their Education, Public Safety, Community Recreation, Food Security, Environment, and Animal Welfare. Organizations awarded funding in 2023 are not eligible for additional funding until 2025. Grant awards range from a minimum of $5,000 to a maximum of $25,000, not to exceed 10% of the applicant's annual operating budget. This initiative is aimed at building robust organizations leading to greater impact within the Santa Barbara community.
