The Idaho Stem Action Center is dedicated to providing coordination for statewide STEM education and activities to enhance opportunities for educators, students, communities, and employers in their work to build a competitive Idaho workforce and economy through STEM and computer science education.
The goal of the grant program is to ensure every student has access to comprehensive computer science education by the completion of a four-year plan, in alignment with the Legislative Statute Computer Science Initiative for Public Schools (33-1633). The grant supports school districts in implementing a plan that meets computer science standards at all levels within four years. Funding covers up to 75% of the implementation costs, encouraging focus on specific areas like curriculum or professional development. It also offers additional support for sustainability, contingent on annual updates. Eligible applicants must submit a detailed four-year plan that is coherent with the Idaho Computing Technology K-12 CS State Plan and Idaho Content Standards for Computer Science, developed in collaboration with a broad spectrum of local education stakeholders.
