The StARTS Program aims to support short-term residencies in Illinois that focus on hands-on learning experiences led by Illinois artists, companies, or ensembles. It offers up to $4,500 for not-for-profit organizations, schools, and school districts to bring in artists for programs such as dance, theatre, writing workshops, and visual arts projects to enhance community and student engagement in the arts. The grant encourages collaborations with artists by offering additional funding incentives for new relationships, professional development sessions, and artists traveling long distances. It requires a cash match for the remaining residency costs from non-state sources.
