To manage, conserve and protect Illinois' natural, recreational and cultural resources, further the public's understanding and appreciation of those resources, and promote the education, science and public safety of Illinois' natural resources for present and future generations.
The Illinois Pheasant Fund Special Funds Grant Program aims to enhance Pheasant wildlife habitat. It allows organized volunteer groups from not-for-profit organizations and governmental entities to submit applications for project funding. This competitive grants program evaluates projects based on merit. Supported by State-appropriated funds from the State Pheasant Fund, it faces limitations if the Illinois General Assembly does not allocate sufficient resources. Projects must be completed within two years of receiving funds, adhere to budget limitations, and follow specific disbursement guidelines. The program encourages new projects as well as the continuation or expansion of existing ones, with funding levels dependent on annual projected revenues and appropriations by the Illinois General Assembly.
