The organization supports members with annual grants for significant research, promoting conservation, awareness, and education about birds within the state.
The IOS Grant Program aligns with the objective of promoting scientific research and education to enhance knowledge and awareness of birds in Illinois. Since its establishment in 2004, the program has supported projects related to birds and birding within the state. To date, it has awarded 131 grants, totaling $117,610, to support research, conservation efforts, and educational initiatives about Illinois' avian life.
