The mission of the Indiana Native Plant Society is to promote the appreciation, preservation, scientific study, and use of plants native to Indiana. They aim to teach people about the beauty, diversity, and importance of these plants to our environment.
The South Central Chapter of the Indiana Native Plant Society offers a Small Grants Program designed to support projects that align with the organization's mission. It provides funding ranging from $50 to $250 for projects such as demonstration gardens at local schools, pollinator areas, rain gardens, or gardens of edible native plants in public parks. Encouraging innovative approaches, the program evaluates proposals based on purpose clarity, community benefit, feasibility, educational value, and the potential success of the project. Funds are typically disbursed in two payments, depending on the project's size and type.
