The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation's mission is focused on supporting biodiversity conservation efforts, particularly in the realms of field biology, ecology, and conservation. They aim to foster the development of individuals committed to preserving biodiversity through advanced education and practical experience in these areas.
The Inlaks Ravi Sankaran Programme, under the aegis of the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation, is designed to assist budding conservationists in gaining practical experience in the field of conservation science. It provides an opportunity for one or two candidates to engage in an internship ranging from six weeks to one year at a notable institution abroad. These can be universities, research groups, NGOs, government agencies, or other organizations active in the conservation sector. The primary goal of the grant is to augment the traditional academic learning trajectory with real-world experience in field ecology and conservation. This includes enhancing the recipients’ understanding and skills in conservation practices, and fostering connections with the global conservation community.
