Seeding The Future's mission is to seed and support impactful initiatives and organizations aiming to transform food systems into ones that are more nutritious, regenerative, and equitable for everyone. Their vision is a global food system that offers equitable access to safe, nutritious, trusted, affordable, and appealing food for all, enhancing personal and planetary health by being sustainable, resilient, and regenerative. They aspire to positively impact the lives of one billion people.
The Annual Seeding The Future Global Food System Challenge encourages innovations with the potential for significant scalable impact that benefit one or more of the following domains: nutritious food for a healthy diet, sustainable production, and consumer accessibility, appeal, affordability, and trust. Aimed at supporting projects that have progressed beyond initial concept development, including prototypes or proof of concept, the challenge seeks innovative, diverse, and multidisciplinary teams to create transformative food system changes. The goal is to inspire and enable transformative food system innovations that address the global need for affordable, safe, and nutritious food while ensuring environmental sustainability. There are three levels of awards available to incentivize transformative innovations at different development stages. The Seeding The Future Grand Prizes award organizations that have developed scalable, compelling innovations with significant, demonstrable potential to positively transform the food system without negative impacts across the specified domains.
