Diagnostics Accelerator: Digital Biomarkers Program

The Diagnostics Accelerator Digital Biomarkers Program is focused on advancing Alzheimer's disease diagnostics through innovative digital platforms and technologies. Emphasizing the need for scalable, passive data collection methods, the program encourages proposals across a variety of digital mediums such as wearables, mobile apps, smart home systems, virtual/augmented reality, and web applications. Specifically, the program seeks to identify digital biomarkers emerging from symptom domains related to cognition, daily activities, motor function, sensory acuity, mood, sleep patterns, oculomotor analysis, pain assessment, and autonomic nervous function. Proposals are evaluated based on their potential to improve current screening or monitoring methods and the biological relevance of the symptom domains to Alzheimer’s disease. Traditional diagnostic hardware and proposals focused on speech and language biomarkers are currently out of scope, with the latter being addressed through a separate consortium effort.
