The International Association for Great Lakes Research (IAGLR) aims to expand its scope internationally beyond the Great Lakes to include large lakes around the world. IAGLR is committed to fostering relationships with international researchers, supporting students and recent graduates from outside the US and Canada through engagement with the IAGLR research community, and building research capacity in developing countries.
The IAGLR International Student Travel Award provides travel support for one or two master's or Ph.D. students, or post-doctoral fellows from countries outside the United States and Canada, to attend the annual IAGLR Conference on Great Lakes Research. This conference alternates locations between the US and Canada. The award aims to broaden IAGLR’s scope internationally, enhance relationships with foreign researchers, create opportunities for international students and recent graduates to connect with the IAGLR research community, and support capacity building in developing nations. The funds are designated specifically for covering the costs associated with attending the conference in the award year, and if unused, are forfeited.
