The International Literacy Association (ILA) is dedicated to connecting research and practice to improve the quality of literacy learning across the globe. ILA celebrates and supports the contributions of individuals and chapters within its network towards this mission.
The Exemplary Reading Program Award by the International Literacy Association recognizes outstanding reading and language arts programs at elementary, middle, and high school levels across Canada and the United States. The award aims to highlight these programs to the public, promoting literacy improvement in society. It acknowledges school staffs that exhibit excellence in their reading and literacy programs, encourages the development and refinement of exemplary programs, shares notable efforts to enhance reading/language arts with the public, and provides information on high-quality programs to help other professionals enhance their instructional strategies. Participation varies as not all state/provincial chapters choose to join the program.
