The Global EbA Fund's mission focuses on supporting projects that enhance the uptake and mainstreaming of Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) to climate change. It aims to address barriers to EbA upscaling, fill knowledge gaps, pilot innovative EbA approaches, engage in EbA policy mainstreaming strategically, and incentivize innovative financing mechanisms and private sector investment in EbA.
The grant program by the Global EbA Fund is designed to support both general and thematic EbA projects. It operates on a biannual funding cycle for general EbA project proposals, which are accepted year-round, with specific cut-off dates for decision-making. The thematic track focuses on urban EbA projects, aiming at catalytic and innovative initiatives that enable the mainstreaming of EbA in urban contexts. Grants range from USD 50,000 to USD 250,000, with up to 24 months duration, targeting projects that present catalytic potential to adapt to climate change. These projects should complement existing efforts by addressing gaps, enhancing investments' impacts, contributing to policy upscaling, or helping develop proposals for further funding.
