Ensuring all students experience a world-class education.
The Therapeutic Classroom Grant program aims to support public school districts in the development and enhancement of therapeutic classrooms. These classrooms serve students aged 3 to 21 whose emotional, social, or behavioral needs affect their ability to thrive in their current educational settings. The grant encourages the establishment of new therapeutic classrooms or the integration of necessary components into existing classrooms or programs being developed for therapeutic purposes. Priority for district awards is given to applicants that were not previously funded, demonstrate collaborative efforts with educational or mental health service providers, or are located in regions providing behavioral health services for children. The essence of a therapeutic classroom is to offer an educational environment, which may or may not be a separate physical space, tailored to support students until they can successfully rejoin their regular education environments.
