Established in 1970 by Elizabeth DeCamp McInery in memory of her late husband Ira W. DeCamp, the DeCamp Foundation has a mission centered around supporting a broad spectrum of organizations within health, social services, and education sectors, with a primary focus on serving the New York metropolitan area.
The Ira W. DeCamp Foundation Grant program is designed to support a wide variety of causes within the New York metropolitan area, concentrating on three key areas: Community-Based Health Care, Foster Care, and Workforce Development. The goals of the grant program include supporting community health centers and primary care providers through capacity building, organizational improvements, and capital projects; enhancing foster care through service linkages, recruitment and training of caregivers, support for older and transition age youth, services for special populations, and policy advocacy; and advancing workforce development through capacity building, program development, research, evaluation, and support for job training organizations that offer comprehensive services including hard and life skills training, full-time competitive employment placement, and post-placement support.
